More than a winter paradise
An unforgettable visit to Winterberg
Amid gently rolling hills, surrounded by forests, lakes and herb meadows, lies picturesque Winterberg. A Sauerland village straight out of a picture book: ancient half-timbered houses and traditional slate dominate the townscape. But Winterberg is not as sleepy as it looks. For holidaymakers, the town is a little paradise with countless exciting leisure activities, world-famous sports facilities, exceptional cultural offerings, numerous shopping opportunities and an attractive nightlife.
Winterberg is particularly popular with athletes. No wonder, after all, the small town is an Olympic base, among other things. Stars such as luger Georg Hackel or the currently highly successful biathletes Maren Hammerschmidt and Christopher Niggemann were or are being formed there. But there is also a lot to experience in Winterberg besides winter sports, for example numerous cycling events in summer. Downhill fans in particular get their money's worth here.
